Marian Morrison ’28 Lecture Series
Marian Wayave Morrison graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1928 with a major in Economics, and from the University of California at Berkeley in 1931 with an M.A. in Economics. She was a true trailblazer in her time, working with Frances Perkins class of 1902, the War Production Board, and after WWII with different government institutions in D.C.; all while raising three children. In 1973, she retired after a stellar career of 40 years with the Federal Government.
To honor the impact of Mount Holyoke’s education on her career and life, Marian Morrison endowed a lecture fund in 1992 to invite “distinguished scholars and practitioners in the field of economics to address problems and topics of significant import in that field.”
