Mount Holyoke College statement on affirmative action and legacy admissions

On June 29, 2023, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a ruling on affirmative action in college admissions. Mount Holyoke College is deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court’s decision to roll back affirmative action. Make no mistake, however: Mount Holyoke will work within the law to ensure that students from historically excluded and underrepresented backgrounds in higher education are welcomed and valued on our campus and in our community. As a gender-diverse women’s college, we are committed to a learning environment that is enriched by the voices and interests of individuals with a broad range of experiences and perspectives. Mount Holyoke College does not maintain a legacy admission program.
