Following a career as a marketing executive for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Governor of Connecticut, Avice Meehan is now a substitute teacher in the Connecticut Region 1 School District. Holding an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, she spent her early career as a newspaper editor and reporter.

A New Yorker of the Year (2016) and Mount Holyoke Medal of Honor (2007) winner, she is currently on the Board of the Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund for Cancer Research and has sat on Alumnae Association committees.
