Roberta J. Cordano is the 11th president of Gallaudet University. Prior to Gallaudet, Cordano served as vice president of programs at the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation and held several leadership roles in the healthcare industry and in higher education.
Cordano began her career as an assistant attorney general for the State of Minnesota. She served as an expert on the Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability-related laws. Cordano has garnered numerous honors and awards. In 2023 she was named a USA TODAY Women of the Year honoree.
