- Participants will understand how to use knowledge about different backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and languages in the school community to promote effective interactions among colleagues, families and the larger community.
- Participants will learn how to model effective communication and collaboration skills with families and other stakeholders focused on attaining equitable achievement for students of all backgrounds and circumstances.
- Participants will gain the tools to facilitate colleagues’ examination of their own understanding of community culture and diversity and help them develop culturally responsive strategies to enrich educational experiences and achieve high levels of learning for all students.
- Participants will develop a shared understanding among their colleagues of the diverse educational needs of families and the community.
- Participants will understand the role of collaboration with families, communities and colleagues in developing comprehensive strategies to address the diverse educational needs of families and the community.
