Alexandra Turshen ’09

  • Actor, producer and writer featured in “Boy Meets Girl,” “Red Oaks” and “Partner Track”

Alexandra Turshen ’09 originally dreamed of being a professional ballet dancer, performing with local ballet companies at age five and joining the Washington Ballet Company after high school. At Mount Holyoke College, Turshen pursued her passion for history, politics, and international human rights, played club ice hockey and performed in school theater productions. She planned to go to Harvard Law School after graduation to become a human rights lawyer, but a theater class changed everything.

Turshen moved to New York after graduation and started auditioning while supporting herself as a bartender. A chance meeting with a manager who enjoyed her work led to higher-level projects, including leads in the rom-com “Boy Meets Girl,” the horror film “Land of Smiles” and the television comedy “Red Oaks,” which ran for three seasons on Amazon Prime. Most recently, she starred as a high-powered lawyer on the Netflix series “Partner Track.” She also starred in the recent Hallmark film “Made For Each Other” and has started producing, where she hopes to focus on “incredible women doing incredible things.” She finds it empowering to start with a foundation and build the story from the ground up.
