Mary Allison "MAK" Kane

MAK focuses on the intersection between sustainable action and higher education through her work as Assistant Director of the Miller Worley Center for the Environment. She aspires to blend principles of experiential education, student development and social justice to help college students determine how they can interact with the natural world and all its inhabitants in meaningful and impactful ways. A functional understanding of student development theory paired with an interdisciplinary knowledge of environmental science and social psychology allows her to facilitate student work towards a more sustainable and equitable future. MAK is especially interested in land rights and climate justice, community-based sustainable living and getting her hands dirty diverting waste!
