Yossi Klement served as Associate Principal Trumpet with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Substitute Principal with the Israel Sinfonietta, Principal with the Jupiter Symphony at Lincoln Center, and Principal with the New York Metamorphoses Orchestra. He has also performed with the Israel Philharmonic, the Berlin Ballet, the New World Symphony, the Albany Symphony, the Palisades Brass Quintet, New York's Kitchen Sink Brass, and various symphony, ballet, opera, and musical theater orchestras in New York City and around the world. He performed under the batons of top conductors including Zubin Mehta, Leonard Bernstein, Michael Tilson Thomas, Krzysztof Penderecki, Maxim Shostakovich, Gunther Schuller, Gerard Schwarz, Stanisław Skrowaczewski, Sergiu Comissiona, and many others.
Yossi has taught at the Rubin Academy and Conservatory of Music, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the Deerfield Academy, and coached brass students at Juilliard’s Pre-College Division. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Yossi was a fellow at the Waterloo Music Festival at Princeton University. He studied trumpet with Mark Gould, William Vacchiano, Edward Treutel, Robert Nagel , Mel Broiles, Armando Ghitalla, and Bernard Adelstein. He studied piano with Baruch Arnon, orchestral conducting with Ronald Braunstein, and repertoire, chamber music, and pedagogy with French Horn legend Harry Berv.
In addition to music, Yossi enjoys photography, swimming, and meditation. He also delighted in powerlifting for twenty years, became a certified strength and fitness trainer for fun, and currently attends weekly classes in Torah and Talmud.
