From MHC to tenure track Professor of Art History
“I encourage all my students, regardless of their major, to take at least one art history course and study abroad.”
Major: Art History major
Advanced Degrees: MA and Ph.D., Rutgers University
Employer: School of Art and Art History, University of Oklahoma
After I graduated from MHC, I was accepted into graduate school at Rutgers University in New Jersey, where I received my PhD in art history with a specialization in European art of the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
I was hired that same year into a tenure-track teaching position in the School of Art and Art History at the University of Oklahoma, and I have been in Oklahoma ever since then.
Based on my experiences at MHC, I encourage all my students, regardless of their major, to take at least one art history course and to attend a study abroad experience.
