Shaping the future — now

Mount Holyoke has shown me not only that I have a voice but also that there are places where I belong.

“I’m a queer, trans, disabled person navigating the world as a politics major. Mount Holyoke has shown me not only that I have a voice but also that there are places where I belong. I have a passion for justice and equity. I see that a change needs to be made, and I’m at a point where I’ve realized, why don’t I just do it? Why should I have to wait and hope for someone to ‘fix things’ when I can start the ‘fixing’ myself?"

“People here are very intentional about their actions and words, and I like to be very intentional about my friendships. At Mount Holyoke, you can explore what community looks like for you and, even if there are conflicts, you can coexist.”

Leadership: Co-founder, Accessibility Justice Club; treasurer, College Democrats; board member, Student Government Association’s disabled students committee; communications officer, 2025 Class Board; peer academic coach

Living-learning community: I was part of the Mi Gente LLC my first year. It provided me with an immediate community of Latinx people.

Career aspirations: I will be attending UMass Amherst for a master’s in higher education with a possibility of a dual degree in a master’s in public policy and administration. My dream job would be consulting with local governments regarding their electoral systems, which is the topic of my thesis.
